Calling all filmmakers
aged 18-26

Build your credits, grow your network and accelerate your film career with a month-long summer film challenge.

Explore who you are as a filmmaker in this hands-on programme with acclaimed mentors Nathan Miller, Basma Khalifa, Gabriel Moses and Saba Kia, co-curated with Fully Focused and Million Youth Media. You’ll learn the fundamentals of filmmaking; strengthen your directing, writing and shooting skills and create a collaborative film about what it means to belong.

We will bring you together into four teams with each group creating a three minute short film on the theme of ‘Belonging’. Each film will be shot on an iPhone 13 Pro Max and we will provide you with the necessary equipment, training, budget and industry mentors to deliver an industry standard film. The final films will be shown at an exclusive screening in the Autumn of 2022. 

  • You are an aspiring director, writer, cinematographer, gaffer or composer. You will have some experience having already made a few shorts or online content and feel sure it's the career you want to pursue. You are committed, hardworking, and ambitious – hungry to learn and willing to work in a team.

    You must be available to attend all dates and times in August – (week one through to week four), to take part in the programme (dates below).

  • We will create teams based on complementary skills and experience levels. Each team will have a professional mentor and Fully Focused | MYM facilitator to guide you and act as a sounding board for your development. If there is someone you particularly want to work with who is also applying, please add this to your registration form and we will try and accommodate.

  • BELONGING

    We are looking for four gripping ideas on the theme of belonging. This can be drama, factual or music led but should be fresh, new and emotionally engage a broad audience. You can apply to be on the team with or without a film idea but this is a great opportunity for budding creatives to add a high quality credit to their reel. Four ideas will be selected by a youth panel.

  • If you fit the brief and would like to be considered, please fill in the registration form, and record a one minute self-tape that tells us about you, your interests, your experience and what you would like to gain from this programme.

    A basic video from your phone is fine. If you have a gmail account you can upload it into the registration form, if you don’t you can send it by email to hello@fullyfocusedproductions.com with your full name in the title.
